the holidays this year to be extravagant. These thoughts pushed him onward despite knowing the company he had been with didn't have the best track record for safety when it came to employess. "Why be scared though?" He wondered to himself. "All that money, would be a shame if I didn't

claim some for myself" He could hear the sounds of dripping water around him and the echoes of heavy machinery drilling into the rock. Lights above humming loudly. All was normal. All of a sudden the lights went out, machinery stopped, no noise at all. Buddy stopped dead in his path.

"Turn the fucking power back on." He heard from one of his fellow miners. "I can't the lever is stuck. Your mother is using it right now." Laughter was in the air with the workers exchanging back in forth banter. "Yeah, well if you knew how to take care of a womans needs that wouldn't matter."

He bellowed back. "Ah fuck off you cheeky bastard." The lights flickered back on and power returned back to the mine. Buddy remembered meeting these two. Eric, the gentleman running the drill and Greg running maintenance. The two were life long friends and apparently had always been this way

towards each other. Buddy remembered the story Greg had told him about Eric and him being deployed together. They made a spank hole and basically any time they had "urges" that they would run to the hole. "Rather die happy in a hole then lose mine from a grenade," Greg would say. Eric

just sitting there taking drinks of his beer and shaking his head. Buddy continued down to meet up with his co-workers. All of a sudden the tunnel went dark again. "God damn it Greg are you paid to fix the fucking lights or just paid to stand and look stupid," Eric yelled. You could

frustration in his voice....No response. "Hey, get the shit out your ears and get these lights back on today." Eric said with a slight quiver in his voice. Next thing they heard was blood curdeling screams from behind Buddy. Fear ripped through him like a sharp knife and he took off.

Running as fast he could but tripped over a inclined rock and smacked his head on the ground. The noises sounded like they were getting closer. Screeches and screams and then...silence.
