Tick tock.
Tick tock.

The rum helps the time pass

Tick tock
Tick tock.

The rum makes the horrors leave.

It pained me to think of a life without Gin. I always would keep and old friend at the side. Between, walking to restaurants, and grabbing ATM cash from the bank. I would take a swig there and back. I drank and drank to keep fear and pain back.

What I feared exactly was unknown. I felt as if the Gin took away part of me. The part of me that was uncontrolled.

It all began on a normal day. People with guns still ran about killing people. Cops followed them.

It was not the day, but the people in the day that landed me in sponge.
The bank erupted in gunfire, and to calm my woes I took some Gin. Breathing heavily as the liquid cascaded down my throat.
It was then the cop mistook me, for the robber. It was my

beard and scraggly
face that branded me as a criminal. He smacked me with his baton and I fell to the ground. The gin spilled out of my mouth and onto the road. So did blood. I scrambled to my feet, and the blood triggered something within me. I snarled

at the officer, and began to beat him to the floor. Others watched, as blood erupted from his nose and cuts appeared across his face. The doctors would tell me I got on all fours, and ran away. I never realized it, until the doctors in the sponge
told me.

Chapter 2

I ran through the streets, hearing footsteps behind me. It was all I remembered. I awoke, behind the bars of a jail cell. Adrenaline pumped through my veins and my fists met the bars. *Clang*

Two officers entered and I began to question them
"What happened?"
"Your in here for assault and battery son." The older officer said.

I sat down in disbelief. Rage filled my veins briefly, but then the visions took over. I could see her.

She stroked my chin and held my body in my hour of pain. Then, she was taken. The flying bird broke the glass and tore her away from me. I cried and cried, and then fell asleep. According to the doctors, I was showing signs of schizophrenia. Which meant,

the doctors would come and see me. The officers cuffed me, and took me to a room.
A doctor and detective sat there. My old habit surfaced.
"May I have some gin?"
"Not now sweetie," the doctor said. "We have some questions first."
I nodded.

Chapter 3

The doctor closed her book and glanced at the officer. They then left the room. They came back, and this time the officer stood behind me. The doctor introduced herself as Jean. She was pretty. Her soft voice calmed me for

the news to come.
"Honey, we are gonna transfer you to the Mental Ward."
I choked on my own breath, the Mental Ward was notorious for it's harsh treatment.

The officer behind me slowly began to cuff me. I screamed, and two more

officers ran in, one with a straight jacket. The doctor smiled,
"Everything will be fine."

Finally, darkness.
