A blissfull array of calming colors plaster the setting sky. I watch as the last drops of the warm colors trickle beneath the horizon and the night begins. I press my eyes shut as to adjust them to the ever darkening world around me. My father told me

this would happen before he passed, Though I never paid much mind. Now that hes gone I grip for dear life onto my slowly fading memories of him, being ripped from me by time. I stand up and follow the path I came. Using my memory as a sort of light.

It works well for the most part and I can avoid most of the big stuff like trees and big rocks, but that doesnt stop me from informing everything around me of my presence. I find a spot where the remainder of sunlight is blocked by a large oak tree and reach into my

crossbody and pull out a small tealight candle and some matches. After a few tedious attempts to light the match in total darkness the tip engulfs in a small white flame. I light the candle and set it on the ground, watching and waiting for small wings to

silently flutter over to the candle before being grabbed by something a thousand times its size. Moths are a very common ingredient for spells and even novice witches know to have plenty at hand. Only 10 minutes later my mason jar is full and I blow out the candle and close my eyes.

This was harder part. I stood up and looked around for any moonlight and I immediatly spot the light breaking through the blanket of trees. I walk over to the light quickly and carefully before staring up at the sky. suddently everything goes dark again and I stand there face towards

the sky and silently begin count. "One... Two..." A distant crunch of leaves informs me of a presence. "Three... Four..." The crunch of leaves goes silent for a mere instant "Five... Six..." The sound resumes in my direction "Seven... Eight" 10 steps away... "Nine... Ten..." I lower

my head from the sky and turn towards the sound. My eyes start to pick up a figure about 5 feet away from me. All of a sudden a dim stream of moonlight flows from my eyes working as a makeshift flashlight. The figure freezes. There stands a girl maybe my age in the middle

of the forest, in the middle of the night.
