Simile - A comparison showing the similarities between two things.
EX: The man walked into the bar like an elephant, stomping his boots.
EX: The glow was as bright as the sun.

Metaphor - A hidden comparison between two things. Portraying something as being something else when it is not actually.
EX: My brother was a bumblebee.
EX: The assignment was a breeze.

Personfication - Giving an inanimate object human like traits.
EX: The wind whispered in my ear.
EX: Hope encouraged me to continue on.
