It was just one last mission. One last task before we could go home, before we could see our families and friends. It was supposed to be empty. Just another building that we needed to check but it was more.

I glanced up at the stars as I walked. They reminded me of my brother, who always had an interest in them. He said they would be a reminder of him while I was away but this reminder only brought me sadness. There were ten of us. We've been through things

that no man could ever imagine. The generals promised that after this we would be able to go back home. Just one last thing. We were in the middle of a large forest looking for an abandoned warehouse. Or what they hope is abandoned. They said that some

rebels could have been using it for a small base. I just wished that this war would end. No more violence and fighting. But I keep going. Suddenly the leader of our group stopped. He signaled us to stop as well. I didn't even notice the large building in

the distance. I saw no sign of any rebels outisde which gave me a little hope that this was just another empty storage unit. We spread around the warehouse near each entrance. The soldier to the left of me counted down from three and we kicked open the

doors. It was deffinitely larger than I expected with rows of shelves all holding boxes. We split into groups of two and searched each side of the building. After a few rows of shevles I looked around the corner and saw something that gave me a chill down

my spine. A knife laid on the ground covered with blood. Right when I was going to call for the others I heard shouting in the distance followed by gunfire. We ran over to the sound of the shouts and found a soldier... dead on the ground. I raised my

weapon, ready for a fight. I heard the faint sound of running behind me and barely had enough time to turn around before I was tackled. The man who had thrown me to the ground attempted to thrust his knife into my chest but I grabbed his wrist and tried

to push him back. Eventually I was able to roll him over and pin him to the ground. I took his knife off of him and stabbed him in the chest. I stood, my legs shaking as I took my gun from the ground and ran. My group member was in the middle of a gun

battle with another man. He shot the rebel down but got hit in the leg in the process. I set him up against the wall but as soon as I tried to do more to help him, bullets flew by my head. I lunged behind a row of boxes and raised my gun. I

stood up and fired a few shots causing him to retreat to cover. I approached cautiously, sticking to the side of a shelf just in case. He suddenly jumped out from his hiding and I hit the ground as he appeared from behind a shelf. I rolled to one side

and shot as soon as I could stand. My speed caught him by suprise and a bullet was able to catch his chest. I wanted to sit and rest but I heard more shouting in the distance. I ran over to see more fighting between rebels and soldiers. One rebel had a

soldier on the ground. He approached him with his finger on the trigger of his gun. I threw a knife at his head and he fell to the ground. I helped my comrade up and he rushed off to help the others but the sound of gun fire slowly faded. All of the

sudden there was only two of us left. I shot another rebel that came from my left side and kept moving. I hit the ground as another rebel popped up from the doorway. I rolled and and shot while kneeled on the ground, hitting the rebel on the shoulder.

I tackled my comrade as another rebel attempted to shoot from behind. We landed near a shelf and crawled behind it. More bullets flew by our heads as we returned fire. It didn't last long as suddenly the other soldier fell to the ground, a bullet in his

head. I yelled out in anger. As a rebel turned the corner I stabbed him. I was growing tired and weak. I wasn't sure if any other soldier was still alive. then an object hit the ground and with a THUD and rolled next to me. I accepted my death as the

grenade exploded. My last thoughts were of my family and friends.
